The repair most shops quote blind
A cracked MacBook screen is one of two repairs. Not one price.
On some models the panel comes out alone. On others the screen is one sealed assembly with the lid. You see which one yours is before anything is opened.
Models we take, Arlington VA
Which MacBook is it?
Grouped by how the screen comes out, because that is what sets the price. Not sure which one you have? Bring it in and we will tell you.
Book a look at yours-
A2337, A2681, A2941, A3113, A3114, A3240, A3241. The 2020 M1 Air, A2337, is the one we see most.
-
A2338. Two generations share the number, and they share the screen assembly with it.
-
A2442, A2485, A2779, A2780, A2918, A2991, A2992, A3185, A3186. Mini-LED on the Pro panels, and priced as such.
-
A1932 and A2179, 2018 to 2020. Still everywhere, still worth repairing, still cheaper than the M-series.
-
A1706, A1707, A1708, A1989, A1990, A2141, A2159, A2251, A2289. Touch Bar models need the strip moved across intact.
-
We can open it. On most of them a screen costs more than the machine is worth, and we will say so before you pay.
MacBook screens, Arlington VA
Two MacBooks with the same crack are not the same repair.
On some models the panel comes out on its own. On others the screen is one sealed assembly with the lid. A shop quoting one price for "MacBook screen" is guessing.
See the price for your model-
The cheaper of the two routes. Not every MacBook is built for it, and we say which yours is.
-
On the sealed models the glass, panel and lid are one part. A hairline crack costs what a shattered one costs.
-
Often the cable inside the hinge rather than the panel. Measurement tells them apart before you pay for a screen.
-
Shine a light at the screen and the desktop is faintly visible. That is a board repair, not a screen.
-
A failing hinge tears the cable behind it. Fitting a screen without fixing that buys the same fault twice.
-
Both are paired to the machine. We move the original across, or we say up front that we cannot.
What actually walks in with a broken MacBook screen
Tap the one yours is doing.
The glass is cracked but the picture is fine.
On the sealed models that is still the whole display assembly. We tell you which route yours takes before we start.
It flickers, or there is a band across the middle.
Usually the display cable inside the hinge. Replacing the panel is the expensive guess.
The screen is black but the machine is clearly on.
Point a light at it. A faint desktop means backlight or display power, which is a board repair.
There is a glow along the bottom edge.
Stage light. The cable has worn where the lid folds, and it gets worse every time the lid closes.
A screen was fitted somewhere else and True Tone stopped.
True Tone is paired to the machine. If the original panel data was discarded, nothing brings it back.
The lid will not stay at the angle I leave it.
The hinge is failing, and it is pulling on the cable behind it. That comes first, or a new screen fails the same way.

Four steps, no surprises
-
01
Diagnose
A real in-house diagnostic finds the actual fault and its cost.
-
02
Approve
You get the price and timeline in writing — nothing happens until you say yes.
-
03
Fix
Board-level lab work: microsoldering, BGA reballing, charging-IC, screen, battery, water.
-
04
Warranty
Every repair leaves with a warranty and an honest note on what it covers.
A repair shouldn’t cost you your privacy
-
No password for most repairs
Screen, battery, charging and glass work don’t need your passcode. If a repair genuinely needs access, we tell you why first.
-
Maintenance & Repair Mode
On Samsung use Maintenance Mode; on Pixel use Repair Mode — they hand us system access while your photos, messages and accounts stay sealed behind a separate space.
-
We don’t browse your files
We do not view, copy or extract your personal files. For data recovery, recovered data is wiped from our equipment once you confirm you have it.
Why our diagnostic is $65
A free diagnostic is a surface-level look — and “free” usually hides a small fee at the counter once the work actually starts. We’d rather charge you once to find the real fault than charge you three times for parts that were never the problem.
-
Real in-house diagnostic
Inspection under a microscope, thermal camera and circuit test — we measure the fault, we don’t guess at it.
-
A written report
Exactly what’s wrong and why, the parts and cost, and a timeline. Yours to keep, even if you don’t proceed.
-
An honest verdict
Including an honest “not worth repairing” when that’s the truth — the one time you pay $65 and nothing more.
A free glance, then “advanced diagnostic — small fee” told to you at the counter. The number never appears before you hand over the device.
$65, published right here, credited to the fix. One flat fee, no tiers, no surprise line item at pickup.

Kuba did a great job fixing the DC jack on motherboard for my laptop. They seem to be among the very few electronic shops that can repair Samsung laptops. The charge is also reasonable.

Great service . I walked in and Kuba was behind the desk . He looked at my iPad and told me it’d be ready in 2 hrs ! He called me to come pick it up and even stayed an extra 10 min after closing so I can pick it up same . I’m extremely satisfied

Great experience through the entire process. I was helped by Kubanychbek Abdashimov and they were quick, efficient, and kept me updated throughout the process. There was no BS or surprise pricing... They cleaned my laptop, which was extremely dirty inside, and replaced the thermal paste.

Is the diagnostic really just $65?
Yes — one flat $65 diagnostic, no tiers, and it’s credited straight toward your repair if you go ahead. You only pay it and nothing more if you decide not to proceed, and you still leave with a written report.
What warranty do I get?
One year on OEM and OEM-equivalent parts, 30 days on aftermarket parts and all labor. The exact term is printed on your invoice. Water and board-level work is honestly framed as a skilled attempt, not a guaranteed outcome.
Do you need my passcode or see my data?
Not for most repairs. When access is genuinely required we explain why first, and we use Samsung Maintenance Mode / Pixel Repair Mode where possible. We don’t browse, copy or extract your files.
How long does a repair take?
Many common repairs — screen, battery, charging — are same-day or while you wait. Board-level and data-recovery work takes longer; we give you a realistic timeline on the spot rather than a fake promise.
OEM or aftermarket parts — what’s the difference?
OEM / original parts match the factory panel and carry the longer warranty; quality aftermarket parts cost less and carry the 30-day term. The calculator shows both where they apply, with the trade-offs, so you choose.
Do I need an appointment?
No. Walk in during opening hours, seven days a week, 11am to 8pm. We are at 2722 Washington Blvd N in Arlington, and most common repairs are done the same day while you wait.
